An enchanted wood, immersed the history and the flavors of the mountains

The perfect experience to enjoy Nature and all the beauty our mountains have to offer.
The hiking trail will start from Portella Mandarini (1600mt), where we will admire a wonderful panorama overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Aeolian Islands. From there we will venture in a wood of conifers and Mediterranean scrub, following an ancient path, almost hidden in between the native lush vegetation. We will reach a clearing, site of an old “mannera”, where shepherds used to find shelter with their flocks of sheep.
During our 1hr break we will enjoy a picnic lunch consisting of local produce and we will also listen to traditional rural tales and stories. The hiking will continue following a path down the valley along the Mandarini stream,
until we reach our starting point again.

Giovanna is a guide specializing in relational tourism, host of the B&B CAS’ANTICA SOPRANA in Petralia. The spark with Petralia started in 2016 when Giovanna, after years of working in the fashion sector, decided to renovate a house in the town. Her first challenge was to convince the local inhabitants themselves of the untapped potential of Petralia Soprana.
