An evening under the stars: visit to the astronomical observatory of Roccapalumba and a local mill

with Valentina and Giovanni
A special evening in Roccapalumba, exploring two hidden places off the tourist trail. The old water mill Fiaccati dates back from the end of the 1800s and is now an ethnographic museum where it’s possible to roll back the years and see some of the old tools. Mr. Pollina, guardian of the mill, will show us around explaining the different mechanisms and how the mill used to work with a live demo. The second visit will be to the astronomical observatory of Roccapalumba where we will be able to look at the celestial vault with its stars and planets: a special moment to connect with the wonders of the Solar System. This experience includes an evening barbecue as well as overnight stay at the Dara Guccione Biofarm.

Brother and sister team Valentina and Giovanni Guccione take care of their family farm, DARA GUCCIONE BIOFARM, handed down through generations since the eighteenth century. It was Valentina who, moved by the desire to share the charm of this estate, created a unique rural hospitality system. Her offerings have nature at their core and are perfectly integrated with the farm that her brother Giovanni runs.
